Major International Artists Launch Cultural Renewal Event in Valencia, Spain

Alongside House of Diehl: Rem Koolhaas, Matthew Herbert, DJ Gilles Peterson, filmmaker Eduardo Noriega, Sonic Youth, Anthony & The Johnsons, and more!

INVADE THE STAGE

Not just another music festival. The Greenspace Valencia event—the first of a series around the world—relights a historic, passionate city through cultural and physical regeneration.

Over the course of a week that culminates in a spectacular 2-day music and arts festival, major international acts and artists team up with young Spanish artists, in design, music, and film, to reflect Valencia's emerging culture scene—globally. Rem Koolhaas will be working with design winners in the creation of space. Sonic Youth jams with Enrique Moriente. House of Diehl invites Valencia's youth to "invade the stage" in a live Instant Couture performance that breaches the gap between spectator and star.

House of Diehl is the only non-music act performing on the main festival stage. Their 45-minute "fashion-meets-rock'n'roll" Instant Couture spectacle will go live to 5000 people in a Friday night bill headlined by Sonic Youth and Spain's Marlango.

VALENCIA, 10.28.05: A TIME, A PLACE, AND A PEOPLE CAPTURED IN STYLE

Instant Couture is a unique live performance where radical fashion is created in seconds—on members of the audience. A cultural portrait emerges through the process, and with it Valencia claims its place in House of Diehl's Global Style Tribes(c) project: a multi-year, multi-disciplinary creative mission to map the world's diverse cultures in style at the turn of the 21st Century.

Greenspace Valencia is the first in a series of Heineken events investing in the culture of on-the-verge cities worldwide. The Valencia festival will take place in disused grain warehouses on Calle de Juan Verdeguer. Following the event, the warehouses will be further restored in partnership with the Council of Valencia to create a permanent home for new creative ideas. House of Diehl is MJ Diehl and Roman Milisic. Their work has been seen in such arenas as Gwen Stefani's Rich Girl video by David LaChapelle, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, MA. House of Diehl is the recent winner of the Triumph International Fashion Award, 2004-5.  For more information, www.houseofdiehl.com

Members of the press may apply to be flown to Valencia to witness the festival in person.
